The Family Web: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Can you help me research my family tree? Not at this time. How do I create a Family Web page in hypertext? I was scanning the Internet as a new user when I happened upon your Family Web idea. I can format my family pages in the manner you show, but how can I find out how to allow people to move from page to page? While you will be able to see, by example, the HTML codes used to create a Family Web page, some browsers will allow you to save the HTML source file to disk as well. I know how to browse the web but I have no idea of how to create a web page, such as a Family Web page, so that others around the world can view it. How do I set up my Family Web page to be found by search utilities? If your Family Web page has a line similar to the following (TITLE)FAMILY WEB: David Wallace Croft (1968-)(/TITLE) (where the parentheses around TITLE are actually angle brackets) there is a good chance that it will be found by a WWW search utility looking for the string "FAMILY WEB:".

Scottish Genealogy, Scottish Family History Research

A Scottish historian, researcher and author with 30 years experience, who undertakes commissions on behalf of those wishing to source information on their Scottish roots prior to 1850. I am a graduate in Scottish History (M.Phil) St Andrews, and a prolific researcher and publisher specialising in early emigration of Scots to North America and the West Indies. My extensive research activities over the past 30 years have given me a familiarity with archives at home and abroad. Work of a genealogical or historical nature 1600-1800 is my speciality and my particular expertise lies in the pattern and historical background to the movement of Scottish people. I charge an initial fee of £80 for 4 hours work, and thereafter at an hourly rate of £20. My published work, The Original Scots Colonists of Early America 1612-1783, (Genealogical Publishing Company, Baltimore, 1989), is the standard source of reference on early Scottish emigrants, and my Scottish Emigration to ...
